Suitability for everyday use under far from everyday conditions.
Under this motto, our engineers and technicians have developed a
product range based on a completely autonomous chassis and aerodynamic
concept.

Presented at the IAA 2001 as a
prototype, the AC Schnitzer X-ROAD has in recent weeks been refined to
series maturity and adapted for the new facelift models.
The result of this complex development work is a range which optimises the BMW 3-series E46 in terms of individuality and application potential, and can be combined with many special accessories of the AC Schnitzer range for the BMW 3-series.

The starting point was the development of a
suspension spring kit which raises the ride height by 30 mm in order to
achieve the necessary "all-terrain ability".
To match the raised
suspension, a wheel and tyre combination has also been developed. This
consists of the AC Schnitzer alloy wheels Type III in size 8.5J x 17" ET
43 with all-terrain tyres in size 225/55 R 17.
The complete
chassis and wheel conversion is available for the BMW 3-series touring
and saloon (both in the all-wheel drive version).
In parallel, the
bodywork has been modified. As a result, the AC Schnitzer X-ROAD is not
only 30 mm higher than its standard brother but also 20 mm wider.
The X-ROAD aerodynamic range for the 3-series touring has been adapted technically and optically to this new application and consists of wing extensions all round, a front spoiler and a rear skirt with marked drive-under protection.

As we said, the AC Schnitzer X-ROAD range
can be combined with many other special developments for the BMW
3-series E46. For example, sports silencers made of V2A special steel
with chromed tailpipe trim, and suspension components such as the
aluminium racing strut brace are also available.
Last but not
least there is an extensive interior range which contains aluminium and
carbon-fibre trims, and also on request complete leather interiors. In
addition, special navigation and Infotainment solutions complete the
range for the interior.
Naturally all components are TUV-approved and available from your BMW dealer.

Professional
tuning is very much in demand, especially by drivers of high
performance cars. So AC Schnitzer has developed an expanded special
accessory range for the BMW M3 which further optimises the already
excellent performance of the standard model.
Especially
effective is the AC Schnitzer rear differential, which perceptibly
improves the agility of the BMW M3. The modified gear ratio of 3.91 : 1
gives far more sporting gear changes and the 6th gear becomes a "true
power stage" allowing the driver to reach top speed earlier than in the
standard vehicle.
Another highlight is the new AC Schnitzer Racing
Interior Conversion. This consists of extremely light, high strength
racing seats with suede upholstery and embroidered AC Schnitzer logo in
conjunction with a 4-point harness system. The conversion is completed
by the new AC Schnitzer roll bar ensuring optimum body rigidity and
hence constituting a real extra safety reserve. All components can be
fitted individually, retaining the standard 3-point safety belt system.
In
addition, as usual we have placed the emphasis on specially developed
suspension components, making these the heart of our special tuning
range.
Depending on personal preference, M3 owners can choose between a sports comfort setting in the AC Schnitzer sports suspension or a racing suspension with adjustable set-up and ride height. The special setting of the AC Schnitzer racing suspension gives the customer the opportunity to experience pure driving pleasure while retaining suitability for everyday use. The sports suspension lowers the BMW M3 approx. 25 mm and the racing suspension reaches a lowering by approximately 30 - 35 mm.

Most
people demand as high a standard from their car as they do from their
life partners. Firstly it must have innumerable inner values - in a car
of this class, you expect pure performance. Secondly it must also have
an extremely attractive external appearance. When the two come together,
things can quickly get serious. This happened to us with the Z4. But
after love at first sight, the first doubts started to appear, and
suggested improvements followed. So the AC Schnitzer specialists set out
to develop true love on wheels: The AC Schnitzer ACS4.
For
the power plant of the most powerful variant at present - the BMW Z4
3.0i - a performance upgrade is already "in the pipeline". A development
achieved in close collaboration with the BMW Motorsport Team Schnitzer,
Freilassing.
The power of the AC Schnitzer ACS4 is increased by
supercharger technology. The heart of the upgrade is a turbine
supercharger which thanks to its toothed belt drive allows almost
noiseless running. Only in the upper speed ranges is the characteristic
compressor note - totally desirably! - produced.
The geometric design of this supercharger means it only needs maximum 38.000 rpm to achieve a boost pressure of 0.35 bar at an engine speed of 6.500 rpm. This increases the output of the standard power plant to a stately 295 HP / 217 kW and brings the maximum torque up by 80 Nm.

Thanks to the
excellent efficiency of the supercharger, there is no need for an extra
charge cooler. The high-tech bearings are permanently lubricated via an
autonomous, dedicated oil reservoir. This has the advantage of allowing
the two oil circuits to work independently.

Tradition
demands it - every (2) years, at the International Motor Show in
Frankfurt, as well as the many innovations in the AC Schnitzer special
accessories range, a very special vehicle is presented. And 2003 is no
exception: The Concept Car, the AC Schnitzer V8 TOPSTER.
The basis is the BMW Z4 3.0i, in which however "no stone is left unturned". The most striking optical feature is the enclosed bodywork, now 13 cm wider, in colours orange / cream.

The life-giving organ which was
developed in record time as a one-off special in close collaboration
with the BMW works team Schnitzer Freilassing, is the upgraded
performance version of the 4941 cc eight cylinder, four-valve engine
from the BMW M5. In conjunction with our technology partner, the
engineers have equipped the V8 TOPSTER with special intake and exhaust
camshafts. The cylinder heads have also been fine-machined, the
compression raised to 11.5 : 1 and the control unit reprogrammed. To
improve the exhaust gas flow, an environmentally-friendly special steel
high performance exhaust system has been developed with twin chromed
racing tailpipe trims in right and left combination.
In comparison with the M5, the power plant has had to be re-positioned in the engine bay of the Z4 basic vehicle and the entire oil circuit optimised, so it was necessary to modify the oil sump and oil pump. Finally, the air flow was improved. By means of new intake pipes and 2 air filter boxes, the entire intake tract could be optimised. These modifications have together resulted in the following performance figures:

of the E46 model with the face lift variants of the 3-series Coupe and
Convertible. The subtle but striking retouches further emphasise the
sporting appearance and take the success story of the "3-series" into
the next phase.
Accordingly, the AC Schnitzer designers have
focused on the creation of a unique aerodynamic conversion which picks
up the new styling cues and further emphasises the sporting lines. Both
the Coupe and the Convertible are fitted with their own front spoiler
and rear skirt.
All other aerodynamic components from the
existing range - e.g. the side skirts, sports mirrors, rear roof
spoiler, rear spoiler and wing - can also be fitted to the face lift
model. The aerodynamic kit is completed with the motorsport-derived
racing rear wing.
For vehicles with factory-fitted M-Technik bodystyling, already an AC Schnitzer front flipper and a corresponding insert for the rear skirt are available.

BMW is offering a powerful 3.0l diesel engine in a 3-series Coupe. For
this reason, it was natural for us to refine further our AC Schnitzer
diesel performance upgrade. The result is a powerful 180 kW / 245 HP -
with maximum torque of 460 Nm at 2870 rpm and a top speed of 248 km/h.
For the sprint from 0 - 100 km/h, the diesel Coupe takes just 6.7
seconds.

achieves 217 kW / 295 HP - a maximum torque of 380 Nm at 4800 rpm and a
top speed of 265 km/h. In this guise, for 0 - 100 km/h it takes just 5.6
seconds for the speedo needle to reach its goal.
Naturally the fully stainless steel rear silencer with chrome-plated tailpipe trim has been developed for the face lift models.
AC
Schnitzer sports suspension in conjunction with corresponding wheel and
tyre combinations up to maximum size 19", and spring kits for pure
lowering, ensure safe and sporting handling with no loss of suitability
for everyday use. We recommend high performance tyres by Continental and
Michelin.
Last but not least we make your (inner) dreams come
true: with complete carbon-fibre interiors in silver and anthracite,
steering wheels and aluminium accessories, e.g. pedal sets, foot rests,
gear knobs and a handbrake handle, the interior of these models lives up
to the promise of the outside.
The range for the E46 series is
completed with Car Infotainment components which can be perfectly
integrated into these vehicles.

The
second "SUV" in the BMW family has arrived, and development work is in
full swing on a special accessories range to cover all areas of the
vehicle.
In recent years, our engineers have been able to build up a wealth of experience with SUV's. First came the big brother of the BMW X3, the X5, and then the engineers naturally turned their attention to AC Schnitzer's own concept based on the BMW 330ix, the AC Schnitzer X-ROAD.

For the 3.0d version of the BMW X3, an AC
Schnitzer Diesel Performance Upgrade is already in development. This
will increase the engine output to 180 kW / 245 HP and raise the maximum
torque by 50 Nm to 460 Nm.. Despite the more powerful engine, the high
driving comfort, moderate fuel consumption and excellent stability
remain unchanged.
With or without the performance upgrade, we also
recommend as further developments the AC Schnitzer sport rear silencer
of V2A special steel with chromed racing tailpipe trim, as this ensures
improved gas flow.
Some years ago the suspension development of
the AC Schnitzer X-ROAD came under the motto: "All Day - All Way". The
same is naturally true of the new X3. With its sports suspension, the
BMW X3 has an unlimited territory. Changing terrain - gravel slopes or
asphalt roads - are no problem for the sports performance of the X3 with
AC Schnitzer suspension. The lowering by 20 - 30 mm in conjunction with
the specially set up dampers perceptibly improves both the driving
dynamics and the stability.

Even
in standard form, the new 5-series is an attractive car - and AC
Schnitzer is now developing a complete range of tuning products for the
latest BMW saloon which extends its sporting talents without neglecting
the comfort of a business vehicle.
These will include a
power upgrade for the BMW 530d: With the AC Schnitzer diesel performance
upgrade, the 5-series gets an extra 37 HP (27 kW), which increases the
maximum torque of 50 Nm and the maximum speed to 252 km/h. Acceleration
from 0 - 100 km/h takes just 6.9 seconds. Despite the increased power of
the AC Schnitzer ACS5 3.0d, the excellent driving performance, moderate
fuel consumption and superb durability naturally remain unchanged.
The scope of supply of the performance upgrade includes not only the additional control module but also a sports rear silencer of V2A special steel with chromed tailpipe trim in racing design.

Even without
the performance upgrade, we recommend fitting the AC Schnitzer sports
rear silencer as this greatly improves gas flow. For a purely aesthetic
conversion, we are currently developing a tailpipe trim.
The AC
Schnitzer suspension solutions which have been thoroughly tested in an
extensive programme - including the North Loop of the Nurburgring - have
been specially matched to the use of low profile performance tyres.
As well as lowering the car by around 30 millimetres, the AC Schnitzer sports suspension ensures more sporting handling in combination with excellent driving comfort. Logical extensions are the antiroll bars and a racing aluminium strut brace, which stabilises the front end particularly in fast cornering and braking manoeuvres.

the five-door with well-fitting, easily painted aerodynamic components.
For the Touring AC Schnitzer already offer a front spoiler which not
only guarantees a more striking outfit but also improves downforce on
the front axle. The recessed air intakes provide further optimum cooling
for the front brakes.

sporting design, side skirt inserts, rear spoiler and a rear skirt.

A
further brilliant highlight which is perfectly integrated into the rear
skirt is the double sports rear silencer with its 2 chromed tailpipes
in Trap-Ment form (combination of trapezium and segment). This exhaust
system is of course not only an aesthetically pleasing but also
optimises gas flow, thus ensuring better response, and gives the V8 a
particularly sonorous "voice".
Exclusivity will shortly be the key
word for the cockpit: as well as a carbon fibre interior trim in the
new "Exclusive Design" in silver and an ergonomically designed airbag
sports steering wheel, above all the aluminium accessories, e.g. for the
controller of the BMW-specific "i-Drive System", provide the finishing
touches.

The endless years of waiting are over. The legendary BMW Coupe is reborn - the new 6-series is here.
In
principle, there's no doubt that "the newcomer" is the worthy successor
to the legendary Coupe from the 80s - the 6-series, with internal
reference E63/E64, in any case has the potential of a legend:
performance, elegance and dynamics.
Despite - or because
of - the excellent "basis", AC Schnitzer has developed a special
accessories range which perfects the 6-series Coupe and the 6-series
Convertible in all respects. Because we all know that in the end,
nothing is so good that it can't be improved.
In the first stage
of our developments, AC Schnitzer has adapted the alloy and racing rims
in Type II , Type III and Type IV design for the 6-series.
As
well as various combinations in 19", the top versions of the Coupe and
the Convertible can be fitted with Type IV racing rims in 21". This
gives the following wheel/tyre combination: front 9.0J x 21" offset 14
with tyres 255/30 R 21 and rear 10.0J x 21" offset 23 with tyres 295/25 R
21 . With just this measure the driving dynamics are perceptibly
improved. AC Schnitzer recommends high performance tyres from
Continental and Michelin .
In addition, the avant-garde AC
Schnitzer Type IV 5-spoke wheels with their spokes running in a star
from the pentagonal wheel centre, and one dish per spoke , are an
excellent match for the modern timeless design of the 6-series. Optional

sports suspension which has undergone extensive tests on both public
roads and on the North Loop of the Nurburgring .

With
the launch of the new 1-series, BMW has entered the strongly contested
"compact class" vehicle category for the first time, and presents a
vehicle that has jumped to the top of its class even before sales begin.
This
posed an even greater challenge to the AC Schnitzer engineers: to
develop a special accessories range which takes the "pleasure principle"
to an even higher level.
For the 1.8d and the 2.0d
versions of the BMW 1-series, AC Schnitzer diesel performance upgrades
are already in development, taking the power - depending on engine model
- up by around 25 - 30 HP. Despite the stronger power plant, the high
running comfort, moderate fuel consumption and excellent stability of
course remain unchanged.
With or without the performance upgrade,
we recommend our newly developed AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer of
V2A special steel with chromed Racing tailpipe trim which ensures
improved gas flow .
Faster and more precise gear changes increase
the adrenaline surge and improve vehicle acceleration. So we have
adapted the AC Schnitzer Short Shift for the BMW 1-series with manual
transmission.
There are already a wealth of AC Schnitzer alloys and racing rims available for the BMW
1 series in Type II , Type III and Type IV designs.

With
the new E90, BMW has introduced the next epoch in the successful
3-series . True to the motto "The driving force", the 3-series sets the
standards for driving pleasure in a new dimension. To quote the
worldwide motoring press in countless road tests in the run-up to the
official launch, a simple formula defines the 3-series:
Comfort + High Quality Engineering + Sports Performance = E90

So the 3-series offers a superb basis for creating an AC Schnitzer ACS3 from an already excellent BMW.
It
is precisely this challenge which currently faces our engineers and
designers. They are working at full speed to develop a range which on
completion will leave nothing to be desired .
The first challenge
is to develop a performance upgrade for the 2.0d . This will comprise a
special Control Unit Program and take the power of the M47D20 TU
standard engine to around 147 kW / 200 HP .
For all engine
variants - with or without performance upgrade - we are developing a
sports rear silencer made from stainless steel which will improve the
exhaust gas flow . The "chromed" finish comes from the Racing tailpipe ,
which will not only be part of the silencer but is also available
already for purely visual enhancement as a chromed tailpipe trim.
To
further improve the driving dynamics in the 3-series, our engineers are
currently working on a wealth of sports suspension components . The
first step, already successfully completed, was the implementation of a
spring kit which lowers the vehicle by around 25 - 30 mm .
In the next stage, the specifications for the suspension engineers include a complete sports suspension and antiroll bar kit with racing strut brace for the front. The complete modification will perceptibly improve the driving behaviour of the new 3-series for more sports performance with no significant loss of comfort, and also substantially increase safety reserves on sudden load changes.

This time the automotive dream is called "M5" and is not just one car - it's at least two.

This concept, already excellent in standard
form, has been perfected by the development of the AC Schnitzer special
accessory range. This meant also that some components did not need
perfecting - this applies primarily to the powerful engine. The V10 high
performance machine remains unchanged even after the "AC Schnitzer
treatment".
Only in the area of the exhaust system attached to the
engine did AC Schnitzer see room for improvement. The newly developed
AC Schnitzer double sports rear silencer made completely from stainless
steel and finished with the equally new chromed tailpipe trims in
"Sports Trim" design, gives the BMW M5 a far more powerful and sonorous
voice than its standard brother.
At the same time, the gas flow is optimised and the response behaviour perceptibly improved.

viewed from all aspects - is demonstrated by AC Schnitzer at the IAA

The basis for the
extensive conversion could only be one vehicle: the 507 HP BMW M6, which
underwent a performance upgrade as the first development stage.
Optimising the entire engine management system and fitting a new AC
Schnitzer exhaust manifold system with special catalyst, sports rear
silencer with chromed tailpipe trims in right/left combination in
"Sports Trim Design" help the TENSION achieve an incredible 406 kW / 552
HP. The Sports Trim Design will also shortly be included in the AC
Schnitzer sports rear silencer range exclusively for the new BMW M
vehicles.
Even more imposing than the pure engine power is the
maximum torque of 540 Nm at 6200 rpm, which pushes the driver back in
the seat and catapults the TENSION explosively to 100 km/h in just 4.5
seconds.
The AC Schnitzer Vmax delimiter means that the acceleration thrust continues to 325 km/h before the speedo needle can relax - where driving conditions allow.
